Quotes from The Kiter Runner

While I was reading this book, I had found some quotes, and I will choose a quote to explain. The quote that I chose was "There is only one sin, only on. And that is theft. Every other sin is a variation of theft," from page 17. I thought deeply about this statement. I disagree with this statement because I do not think stealing things is the only kind of sin. Other than stealing, torturing a person or killing someone also can be sin, while those sins are not related to theft.

The quote that I chose from the story The Kiter Runner is "...a person who wastes his God-given talents is a donkey." This quote really touched my heart because that was what I was always thinking, and we should not waste the talent which is given from God. I am a Christian, but I do not really believe in God's words. Sometimes I suspect the existence of God, but the one thing that I am sure of is that every person has different characteristics, and they are talented in many different ways. For example, I know what I am talented at and what I enjoy doing. What I like to do is different from what I am good at. Some people have the same, but most people do not. I am not saying that everyone should do what they are talented at. Not using and sharing what you are talented in is so dumb. Even if you do not like it, at least people should know what they are talented at so they do not have to waste their time. I know there are many people who wants to be talented to some things, so I think everyone should share or use what they are talented in.

"There is only one sin, only one. And that is theft. Every other sin is a variation of theft." This quote from The Kiter Runner on page 17 is the quote that I can really agree on. I agree with this idea because if it is seen from a wide view, all sins fall under the major category of "theft". A classic example of sin is "mudering". Murdering can also be seen as a type of theft because it is killing someone, but while you're killing someone, you are taking the person's hopes, dreams, his life in the world, and more.

Another common example of sin is adultery. This type of sin can also fall under the category of "theft" in my point of view. This is because rape or adultery is stealing away someone's virginity if the person was a virgin at the time the even happened. Also, when something is stolen, a person feels devastated. If a person gets raped, I believe they will feel afraid and devasted also.
